Our Story
The Door of Hope is an innovative social services agency dedicated to transforming lives through holistic care and comprehensive support. Our mission is to help individuals and families rise to their potential rather than fall victim to their circumstances. As a 501(c)(3) Christian-based nonprofit, The Door of Hope was founded to provide compassionate, life-changing solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the vulnerable members of our communities: food insecurity, homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and the foster care system. Mental illness and addiction impact families everywhere often leading to homelessness, child abuse and neglect and leave many children and families with deep rooted trauma.
With a mission rooted in empathy, encouragement, and the agape love of Jesus, we provide comprehensive support to those seeking to better their lives. Our holistic approach encompasses immediate relief, innovative programs, and dedicated initiatives designed to break cycles of trauma, homelessness, and instability. We aim to heal, build resilience, and foster hope for brighter futures, ultimately empowering individuals and families to become valued and productive members of society. We believe that every individual deserves a chance to thrive. Our mission goes beyond providing basic necessities; we strive to create a supportive community where people can heal, learn, and transform their lives. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term goals, we aim to pave the way for lasting positive change in our community.

Emergency Shelter
About The Hope House Shelter
Every night, over 10,000 people in Ohio have nowhere to call home, including thousands of youth and families. The intersection of homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues creates an urgent need for comprehensive support services. Our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Supportive Housing Program is a lifeline for those struggling to survive on the streets. We provide 24/7 access to safe sleeping spaces, nutritious meals, essential supplies, and a range of vital support services, from mental health counseling and addiction recovery to job training and life skills workshops. But we cannot do this alone. Your generous donation will directly help us acquire and renovate safe housing units, support families in crisis, and provide the resources necessary to break the cycle of homelessness. We are pursuing funding for Addiction recovery transitional and long term supportive housing to launch a program in collaboration with Restore Hope addiction & A Ray of Hope Counseling services in 2025
